Anmol Bishnoi, the younger brother of notorious gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, has reportedly been arrested in California, USA, as per recent media reports. This marks a major breakthrough in efforts to apprehend him for his alleged involvement in multiple high-profile crimes.
Mumbai police recently initiated the process to extradite Anmol after US authorities confirmed his presence in their country. He is a key suspect in several cases, including the murder of NCP leader and former MLA Baba Siddique. The crime branch had approached a special MCOCA (Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act) court last month to begin extradition proceedings against him.
In addition to the Siddique murder case, Anmol Bishnoi is wanted in connection with the firing incident outside Bollywood superstar Salman Khan’s Galaxy Apartment in Mumbai earlier this year. Both Anmol and his brother Lawrence have been named as wanted accused in the chargesheet filed by the police. Back in April, a lookout notice was issued for Anmol after he allegedly claimed responsibility for the shooting.
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has also been pursuing Anmol, offering a ₹10 lakh reward for any information leading to his arrest. The agency has filed two chargesheets against him in 2022 related to organized crime activities.
