Bomb Scare at Two Delhi Schools, Students Evacuated

A tense morning unfolded for students and staff at two prominent Delhi schools—DPS RK Puram and GD Goenka School in Paschim Vihar—after both institutions received bomb threats early Monday. The threats, reportedly sent via email, disrupted what would have been a routine start to the school day.

The Delhi Fire Department received the first alert from GD Goenka School at 6:15 am, followed by another call from DPS RK Puram at 7:06 am. As school buses pulled up and parents dropped off their kids, the news quickly spread, prompting school authorities to evacuate the premises and send students back home.

Emergency teams, including bomb squads, dog units, and police, rushed to the scene to conduct thorough searches. So far, no suspicious objects have been found, but investigations are ongoing.

A Troubling Pattern of Threats
This isn’t the first time Delhi schools have faced such unsettling incidents. Just last month, a CRPF school in Rohini’s Prashant Vihar experienced a minor explosion that damaged walls, nearby shops, and vehicles. A day later, an email threatened bomb blasts across all CRPF schools, creating panic among parents and authorities alike. Thankfully, that threat turned out to be a hoax.

While Monday’s scare has so far proven to be unfounded, it’s a sobering reminder of the vulnerability of our educational spaces. Parents are understandably shaken, and authorities are urging everyone to remain vigilant while investigations continue.

For now, both schools are focused on ensuring safety and resuming normalcy, while students and parents try to process the morning’s events.
