Prime Minister Narendra Modi revealed on Monday that the PM Surya Ghar Yojana, India’s ambitious solar rooftop action, has seen enrollments from over 1.3 crore families since its launch. Speaking at the 4th Global Renewable Energy Investor’s Meet(RE-INVEST) 2024 in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, PM Modi hailed the scheme as a game- changer in promoting sustainable energy and empowering homes across the nation.

Solar Revolution Gathers Momentum
“ Over 1.3 crore families have joined the PM Solar Rooftop Scheme, transubstantiating their homes into capitals of renewable energy. With installation successfully completed in 3.75 lakh homes, the scale of progress is truly remarkable, ” the Prime Minister declared, emphasizing the action’s revolutionary impact on energy sustainability and tone- reliance.

The program, he added, does more than induce renewable energy — it turns ordinary homes into energy directors. Families can now contribute fat electricity to the grid, earning an fresh ₹ 25,000 annually. “ Imagine a small ménage using 250 units of electricity per month and dealing 100 units back to the grid that’s a significant saving of ₹ 25,000 every time, ” PM Modi noted.

Green Jobs and Economic Impact
The Prime Minister underlined the scheme’s capacity to boost the green frugality by creating employment openings. “ We anticipate this action to induce around 20 lakh green jobs, creating demand for thousands of merchandisers and installers, ” he said. This swell in renewable energy structure is poised to make India a global leader in clean energy relinquishment.
